MATT GOLD

Writer | ACTOR | DIRECTOR
Matt Gold is a writer, actor and director hailing from the Chicago comedy scene. With a background in sketch and improv, his stage work has been featured all across the city, with a majority of shows highlighted at The Second City, including Lesser Known History, Critically Ashamed, In Your Mildest Dreams and One Giant Leap.

In 2017, Matt grew his love of joke telling from stage to screen when he studied at the Harold Ramis Film School, the world’s first film school solely dedicated to comedy. Working with a variety of accomplished writers, directors, producers and actors, Matt's body of work has grown to encompass short films, sketch and improv shows, web series, and screenplays for sitcoms & feature films. Other comedic work includes contributing to The Onion, teaching the TV & Film Screenwriting course at The Second City, and a variety of freelance writing projects.

Matt has received film and screenplay award recognition from the Chicago Comedy Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, Austin Comedy Film Festival, Portland Film Festival, Atlanta Comedy Film Festival, Rock the Shorts, Culver City Film Festival, Reeling LGBT+ Festival, and Chicago Jewish Film Festival.

Now living in Los Angeles, Matt continues to make films, perform improv and write scripts with an end goal to bring his comedic POV to a sitcom or late night writer's room.

Writing in third person is fun. Let's watch some films.
